Our Story

In a valley at the foot of the Rocky Mountains just east of Yellowstone National Park in northern Wyoming is a small farm where Clarence and Bessie Zeller raised their family of 3 sons and 3 daughters.

To support the family, they produced honey. Honey like no other in the whole world! This honey is made by bees they call “Little Johnnies”. Started from the wild bees Clarence’s father took from the bee trees on the Shoshone River bottoms. Little Johnnies are mean, and they attack just for the fun of it. They just love to sting, but they gather the sweetest nectar which makes this special honey they call “The Nectar of the Gods”.

When the boys were grown, they each had to try their wings, and went out to see the world. The sting of the “Little Johnnies” was like the Pied Piper calling them back to the farm and their beloved bees.

In 1976 they decided to make use of an old family recipe from Bessie’s ancestors in Scotland and make honey candy for sale. They had made taffy as kids and had lots of fun stretching it.They had all the necessary ingredients for delicious candy—that specialhoney, the recipe, and the desire. But, would it work? More recipes were developed, and in 1979 they started making honey pecan pralines, now known as Pecan Pearls. This candy is so smooth it just melts in your mouth, with just enough pecans to make it chewy. It’s a taste that defies description. The only thing to do is to try it. You’ll love it. You’ll also love the Honeymoons, Truffles, English Toffee and other mouthwatering confections they have added to their line since that long ago beginning.

Our Ingredients

At Queen Bee Gardens, we are committed to 100% gluten-free production, ensuring that none of our confections contain wheat or gluten ingredients. Our "Story of Chocolate" standard means we never use hydrogenated fats or oils; instead, we rely on pure cocoa butter, sunflower or soya lecithin, and natural vanilla to create premium milk, dark, and ivory chocolates. To maintain our high standards for purity, we prioritize natural colorants like beet juice and purple cabbage, and we take strict precautions to prevent cross-contamination for customers with nut sensitivities.

The heart of our sweets is nature’s golden antioxidant: honey. As an unrefined, 99% predigested sweetener, our honey provides instant energy along with essential B-complex vitamins, minerals, and 17 amino acids. We also incorporate Royal Jelly, a nutrient powerhouse rich in beneficial lipids and pantothenic acid. By choosing these living, organic ingredients over refined sugars, we offer treats that are not only delicious but also packed with the same life-sustaining antioxidants found in leafy greens and superfruits.

Our Dedication

Honey Bees are an incredibly important part of our ecosystem. Did you know that Honey Bees are responsible for pollinating over 130 different types of fruits, nuts, and vegetables in the United States alone? They also pollinate wild trees and plants, ensuring that natural habitats stay healthy and thriving.

Without bees, our food supply would face a significant decline in both quality and quantity. Honey Bees also play an essential role in the production of honey, which is their primary source of carbohydrates and energy.

Unfortunately, the Honey Bee population is facing significant challenges due to habitat loss, pesticide exposure, and climate change. Colony collapse disorder, which causes entire bee colonies to die off, is a major issue affecting Honey Bee populations around the world.

Fortunately, there are many ways we can help save the bees! Here are a few ways you can do your part:

  • Plant bee-friendly flowers. Bees love flowers like daisies, lavender, and sunflowers. By planting these flowers in your garden or on your balcony, you can provide bees with a much-needed food source.
  • Limit your use of pesticides. Pesticides can be harmful to bees, so try to limit your use of them as much as possible. Look for natural alternatives or try companion planting to help keep pests away.
  • Support your local beekeepers. By buying local honey and other bee-related products, you can help support local beekeepers and ensure that Honey Bees have the resources they need to thrive.
  • Get involved in bee conservation efforts. There are many amazing organizations working to save the bees. Look for local beekeeping clubs or conservation groups to get involved!
